Suffocating Jealousy

I know I'm not the only girl you call beautiful,
I know there are others that catch your eye.
I trust you and know you love me,
But I can't suffocate this jealousy inside.
I try not to let it consume me,
I try not to let it show.
But I always end up hurt,
Shedding a tear with each rib-cracking blow.
To you, words may be just simple things,
But I feel lost in your verbal sea.
It's irrational, yes, to want this,
I just can't control the crashing waves in me.
It must be my biggest downfall,
And I can't find a repair.
I don't like this crazy feeling,
This drowning in jealous despair.
