Summer Girl

Barefoot and tanned
Sundress tattered, sun-faded and flowing
Matriarch of the beach
Blonde hair a mess
Shucking lobsters, elbows grounded wide
Scared of no sea
no wind
no storm
You dance and revel in the rain
You drink the sweet summer air
The smell of sea salt and fresh cut grass
reminding you of your childhood
Blueberries in your white wine, always
Tall stemmed glass dangling
from your sun-loved unpolished hand
Hosting elegant parties on your tiny cottage porch
You sea-sprayed breathless beauty
You are wind, you are the sun,
You are the electrical currents of a summer storm
you are...
Forever. Forever, my summer girl
