Summer in Australia.
My sister has penned this poem
Barren bald but beautiful is how our lands become. It’s scorched, singed and injured and Summers just begun.
We all look to heaven and pray for rain to fall, sometimes we even wonder if prayers are heard at all.
Animals are walking on their sore and injured feet. Farmers are heard crying as their herds are put to sleep. Families are wondering where will they sleep tonight and all the time our heroes are continuing the fight .
On the news and on our screens, we see distressing things, but for all the thieves and scammers, hope is also what it brings .
Because Australia isn’t only about the land, birds and trees it’s also about people and how amazing are these.
Volunteers are helping, fire fighters rock. Truckers are delivering and nurses work round the clock. Communities are caring and neighbours chat beside the fence. This week we have added all our brave ones from defence.
So though our country’s burning and we wish the flames were out, lets keep the good thats come from this, cause that’s what we’re about.!
