Summer Is A Creek

A lark

in the park

perches on the bark

after a tiring flight.

Parched

and weak,

the trickle of the creek

intrigues our fellow wanderer.

Swerving the trees,

dodging the bees,

she arrives at the base of a hill.

Fatigued and lost.

She travels still.

Until...

She reaches the peak,

and what does she find?

Once eager for the end,

She now can't comprehend

the beauty that comes with the view.

Still she has to come down

for much needed rest,

and she must attest

that the water is beautiful too.
