Summer Nights

Summer nights

I want to inhale the fireflies
and exhale the memories
I want to smile so wide so that
you can see the stars shine off my teeth
I want my lips to ooze the moon
and the crackle of the fire
embed in my eardrum
I forever want
the sparkling dance on the lake
engraved into my eyes
I will seek out
the running around in parks until
I am unable to use my feet
Each summer
better than the last
Who knows how many I will get
in this lifetime
so I am going to engulf myself
in each one I get
Taking in the glitz
and laughing out with dandelions.
