Summer’s Home

Silken gasp along my pillow
Icy grip beneath my chest
Black-stained notes strewn beside me
Velvet memories assault my sense

Dancing close in the night
Pale hands stretch to reach my tears
Time and space, oh gracious myth
His voice breathes amongst my own
Satin whispers praise life anew

Cold limbs slip out the window
Daylight worries left behind
Inky skies shroud his serenade
Frost-slicked sheets mourn the tale

Crimson eyes glide through the stars
Summer's home no more
