Summer’s Night

I lay quiet and peaceful, eyes aloft
Looking to the obsidian sky of night
Underneath me is fresh grass, sweet and soft
And above me are the stars, shining so bright

A wolf lets out a melodious howl
But I am safe inside my grove of trees
I hear the soft hoot of a lonely owl
And feel the cool touch of a gentle breeze.

Far away the majestic mountains reign
Where everything is biting ice and snow
But from here, there is no sign of that pain
Only beauty, crowned with ethereal glow.

I wonder again at nature's perfect harmony,
Then close my eyes, bathing in tranquility.
