Sun and Moon

Your smile is a radiant and pure light that is
shone into the black cave of my mind;
Intrusive as it uncovers the foul creatures that
dwell here, but necessary to live

Your eyes are kind and gentle, reminding me
of the comfort in childhood when there were no cares;
a welcome host to all who would meet them,
but a reminder of what I cannot be

Your heart is full and beats powerfully,
pumping the blood of life into my withered husk;
I perish without your warmth and I resent that
it keeps me from the chilled clutches I morbidly hope for

You save me; But what if I do not want to be saved?
