Sun and Set

A day is as patient as a sundial;
Seconds float like words.
Seemingly, a sunrise is never rushed, only assumed.

An eternity, a while, infinity, forever;
A sunset is equally as determined.

A day passes, but curiously, makes no sound.

What marks its importance?
Is it a statue or a statement?
A scar or a story?
A sun or a set?

The rest may never be enough,
An attempt may never succeed,
A wish may never be granted,
A day may never cease;

And yet, we are patient,
Patient as a sundial.
