Sundown, Sunrise

My steps are boisterous in the path of life.
Vociferous, like earth shattering thunder
and my anger is nebulous;
Obscure like the unknown.
Grief gnaws at my joy wearing it away remorselessly
while conveying images of hurt and sorrow.
The images of injustice, prejudice,
love once experienced but lost and the death of familiars.
My voice is quiescent in the cacophonous hallway.
Silent, like last night's dreams
and my joy is awakened;
Resurrected like flower petals in the spring.
A filmy barrier blocks damaging memories
by replacing agony with surreal happiness.
Happiness accomplished by false comments,
and a double-sided ambient.
