Sunrise

“Skies painted in blues and pink's
The earth, an ugly brown
Smeared across clouds, gray
The trees: black
Hope seemed
lost.
It flew far away
towards the dripping yellow
already behind the horizon.”

“Is it possible,”
he asked,
“For Hope to drift back?”
“Depends,”
she replied,
“Will the sun rise again?”
