Sunshine
I remember a time when my mommy would sing,
That I was her sunshine as she'd Rock me to sleep,
I'd rarely hear the end although I would try,
Now when I hear it tears well up all in my eyes,
Not out of sorrow and not a full cry,
I just know that it's momma telling me hi,
Cause not only was she mom but also my dad,
For myself and three sister's what we needed we had,
For my struggle is real with the one that I have,
With the help of a wife and being a man,
But she made it seem easy or at least at the time,
Without having a nickel or even a dime,
So much that she inspired me to write her this rhyme,
And I'll forever shed a tear for you are my sunshine.
