Sunshine Rays

I met a girl who cried for days
I tried to find some sunshine rays
But underneath her smiling face
Lay a troubled inner haze

She set a tone for me to see
She wasn’t who she was meant to be
She knew inside a change awaited
But every day the change evaded

She called for help to all around
And spun her head upside down
Days would pass and no one came
And every day she felt the same

I hoped she got the help she asked
I hoped she got the change at last
I waited under sunshine rays
For her to change her saddened gaze

But never did I see her turn
And never did I see her learn
In the end, the change she needed
Sat on tears, left unheeded
