Superficial

The air we breathe, the land we sow
The water that soothes our throats
All that the eye gathers
Superficial

High-rise buildings, cities of light
Fast-pace lives and
A surge of pandemonium
All that the brain feels
Superficial

There is much more
To the surface of our reality
Much more than things that are
Superficial

Small things that don't cross our minds
A child in the sun and his glowing smile
Forever we stay afloat
Yet all we can reach is the surface
The surface of our being

Admire the beauty of existence
Be humble, be present
Life can be more than just
Superficial
