Surfing and Forever

Hand in hand, we walked towards the shore
Where the frothy waves are anxiously waiting
I smiled and quelched the fear in my core
But my heart had no intention to stop its wild beating

He taught me to just go with the flow
Shouldn't hold back. Free my soul.
He said I may fall into the water a lot,
But I must always get up and ready to try again my luck

So I fell in love with the exhilarating sport
And the person who taught me? Yes, both.
To entrust one's heart is a risky move but I don't care.
I'd rather lay all my cards bare than play it safe and dwell on the "What if's" after.

Cut off from the world and surrounded by the glittering water
I can say we're having the best time of our lives to let others opinion of us matter.
There, in the midst of the restless water,
Battered and bruised, we found solace and forever.
