Surrender the Day

Your hill of fate it folds
Epic devotion keeps you at bay
An Oscar to one and Wilde to some
Surrender-Surrender I say-Surrender the day
Be like the birds that fly in the sky
Free and colorful not needing to try
One’s problems can be that of a swamp
Sucking you in, bubbling with your emotions
And fogging your mind with hopeless thoughts
Surrender I say- Surrender the day
To a precinct mind, passive to the cries
They are the American laurel,
They know nothing of a winsome choral
Sink into your deterrence
And swim against that current
Dare you, I to will one day
Surrender the day
