Survive the Fall

I never knew a life so bizarre,
Seeming eternity was both near and far
Humanity clinging to their dreams,
Many captured, some ripped at the seams

Moral courage, not felt at all,
As one man rises, another must fall
Forever yearning in every man's heart,
A memory of what we did part

Never known to one to be content,
Seeming never to be fervent
A harsh world that has been shattered,
With memories left of all that mattered

Does this world need a time of rest,
Or would more change be for the best?
One person alone cannot do it all,
It takes everyone to survive the fall
