Surviving The Fall

Gazing at the journey ahead,
My heart pounded and feet
dragged.
Oh how I was ready to win
this race, but sadly thought
little of the steps to take.
I started to run,
then took a fatal fall.
Who is this girl, clinging
to life? Must I go on or
give up the fight?
My heart still pounding,
nails claw the ground,
as I dig myself out of the
hell I've found.
