Sweater

I wore a sweater to
remember the warm embrace of you pulling me in
I wore a sweater to
forget the scars that you left on my heart and not my skin
I wore a sweater to
hide and add myself to your gallery of flowers on your wall
I wore a sweater to
remind myself that you said I was the rarest and most beautiful of all
But this sweater is coming undone
And you, you're the one
Pulling my thread
Farther and farther, making me wish I were dead
Tears will fall
Oh yes, they will fall
These tears are bleak
But by no means are they weak
These tears will arise
Like stars in the skies
And me with them I will rise too
Although I will carry you always like a tattoo
Our love was a strange thing
But a beautiful monstrous thing
And after all is said and done
You've won
The sweater is no longer
And I couldn't be any stronger
