Sweet Dreams

What sweet dreams are yet in store
to wash upon this midnight shore?
Visions of a future not yet come to pass,
visions of a love truly meant to last.
You and I together upon this wispy plain,
I see your lovely face as I say your name.
I know that we are meant to be,
this I feel I need not see.
Deep within this wondrous realm is where it all abounds;
so to, within this realm is where our love is found.
Haze surrounds our uncertain fate.
Yet our love is felt in this altered state.
A love so strong, a love so pure,
a love for which there is no cure.
Future holds what may or might,
two hearts in love, our souls delight.
Our love was lost and torn away,
I love you still to this day.
Words were spoken, mistakes were mad;
from that point, our paths were made.
Diverged our lives did from one another,
too long apart now from each other.
Enduring fate's cruel design has been more then pain-
almost too much for one's heart to contain.
Our paths will merge, I know not when;
until then, I dream of you.time and again.
Sometimes I think of you, I know not what to do.
I only hope you're out there somewhere, dreaming of me, too.
