Sweet Mary

Run for me through tender grass
Up Soldier's Hill on the 4th of July
Wait for me on a blanket there
Under shimmering leaves and bombs on the horizon

Remember how it used to be
Before the duffel and the gun
Imagine how it's going to be
When they beat this war into a plow

Through smoke and flame
I'll be on my way
Through noise and rage
I'll be on that plane
Through tears and pain
I'll be home to stay
Then you can throw yourself on me
Sweet Mary
