Sweet Nothings

Where are you-
You who takes away my breath
then exchanges it for your own.
Whose ambitions
whisper sweet nothings
to the universe.
Where are you-
You whose soul is made of moonlight.
I long for you.
I long for an embrace
warmer than whiskey,
more supernatural than smoke.
I long for the chance to dance in the rain-
to let go of the sorrow and pain
that this life has cruelly bestowed
Upon its own child.
I have been tossed about to and fro.
I long to let go of my past
with my world by my side.
Where are you.
