Take Flight

One fathom deep my body laid to sleep.
Placed mournfully in the cold and lonely ground,
forced to slumber underneath this dreadful mound.
I refuse to be locked and sealed so tight,
placed here for eternity where all my days are night.
A told tell silent slumber without the least of a sound,
This dirt filled grave shall never keep my soul so bound!
So don't cry, come visit over my grave I plea,
where my body now silanced but my soul set free.
Free as the breeze that blows through your hair,
free as the birds that float upon the air.
No longer bound to this meaningless plight,
from my soul sprout wings, and I now take flight.
Onward to places once deemed too far,
in serch of a new home near a distant shinny star.
Come take flight when your soul is set free,
i'll be waiting with open arms, longing for your company.
