Talk Tomorrow, Cry Tonight

What I read was fragile and tired.
"Talk tomorrow, cry tonight."
In speechless silence, millions of weary footsteps
apart...I will cry with you tonight.

Erect that familiar barricade,
a wall I know too well.
I will fly, soar over it, to sit beside you.
We will laugh tonight.

Let us carry on our wings,
this gift of hope reciprocated.
I pray before tonight is tomorrow,
our old friendship will unite again.

Forgetting if only for an instant,
life's ruthless slaughter.
We will talk, laugh, and smile again.
BE the faces we see in the mirror

...and we will cry tomorrow.
