Tears for a Child

She has a loving heart
A great big smile so full of love-
Her hands, so soft and kind-
Her voice, so smooth and calming
No one would ever know the secret storm inside her.
The doctors say she's barren
She tries to hide the tears
Remembering all those times of trying
All those days at the doctors, with those needles,
Pocking and prying.
She wants so bad to have a child
Someone to hold and rock to sleep-
To nourish them with the milk from her breast,
Be able to fix all of life's worries with a kiss.
She wants so bad to have a child
But the doctors say she's barren.
