Tears on Otley Bridge
On Otley Bridge we said goodbyes
The tears were stinging in my eyes
I rub my eyes with my filthy glove
And regret to think I may be in love
I'm thinking deeply on Otley Bridge
This love for a girl with a heart like a fridge
Within me my heart beats a different song
I can't be in love, this is wrong.
On Otley Bridge the wind ruffles my hair
My eyes are stinging but I don't care
Then I realise the cause of my ills
Not love but pollen of daffodils.

I am fro Otley, West Yorkshire, England and moved to West Virginia in 2016. Otley Bridge divides the town in two and so could well stand for my leaving to start a new life. I also get very bad hay fever in spring
