Tears Painted Red, White & blue

September 11th, the world in a quandary
We stood on the ground looking up into space
Low planes a flying, families dying
Could this be the end of the whole human race?

Tears were all falling, but this time was new
Tears were now painted the red, white, and blue
Innocence ending, America sending
A dish named revenge served cold just for you

Doors had been opened to give you a try
American eagle, Mom’s apple pie
Peace in our valley, food in our galley
A cave in a rock pile is where you will die

Some words to remember in case you’ve not heard
America’s mad, we won’t mince our word
We’re ready each day for your best to test us
But never the day that your test will best us

So hear one America singing for you
Catholic, Christian, Gay, and a Jew
American Indian ready for war
If this ain’t enough, we’ll give you some more

One solemn voice, one final chorus
Hear out the words we’re singing for you
Innocence ending revenge we are sending
Tears are now painted the red, white, and blue
