Tears: The Language of the Heart

Tears hold the feelings
That one who sheds them bear.
Often streams of sadness
Or streaks of quivering fear.

Flowing out and gliding down,
The outside world at them perceives
As symbols of pain so deep,
Or a hurtful hidden grief.

But most forget that they too
Represent a river flowing
With happiness and joy,
And love that burns with passion undying.

Now take a look at them
As epitomes of beauty that peek
From the corner of our eyes;
As they take the form of words
Our heart wants to speak.
