Thankfully Late


Sounds creep in, like an old familiar blanket
Scratchy at first, but hugging like a parent
Swirling dancers, spinning in rhythm
Smokey colors, sparkle in prism
Smell of old, but surprisingly fresh
Notes yawn, awaken and stretch
Cheers applaud, drum stomped feet
One more song, like candy tastes sweet
