Thankless Task

Thankless Task
Being a mom
Is a thankless task
Why should I want to
Many young girls ask

It takes all your time
It takes away liberty
No money for things
Living for others literally

Then the little miracle comes
Wrapped with a tiny bow
Tiny face and hands
Soft silky skin and ten tiny toes
From that day forward
You start to disappear
There is only that baby girl
And love, joy and fear

She will grow beautiful
She will grow brave and strong
She will grow independent
And she won't need you very long

But the woman you helped her become
Will make a huge impact on others
She's loving and caring and smart
She will help if someone suffers

Thanks will come when you see
The woman she will come to be
When she has children of her own
And they all love God because you planted the seed.
