Thanks But No Thanks

you grab my hand
encouraging me to point my finger
at the chest of another
issue the blame
stick it on like a name tag of shame
i wont
i refuse to become you
instead i will outstretch my hand
and offer it to anyone who needs it
my palms look like theirs
covered in lines and history
you gave us less trees than we had to begin with
so how can you expect me to be under the influence
as same air as you
breath in those toxins that
made you turn on your brother
the water is undrinkable
poisoned and filled with delusion
so thank you for your backhanded contribution
but we will take it from here
carrying
the
torch
but unlike you
we will not burn ourselves
