Thanksgiving Surprise

I cannot see my mom everyday. She lives far away. Things just aren't the same. I hope when I see her she remembers my name.

You see my mom is in a home. She has dementia and she cannot be alone.

I can't wait to see her when she sees her surprise. Sometimes she is happy and sometimes she cries.

Gifts and flowers I will bring. Memories we will make. Many pictures we will take.

Turkey, stuffing, gravy and pumpkin pie with sweet tea. I hope she'll be hungry.

Mom loves company and she is not expecting me, although this is her wish.

I can't wait to see the look in her eyes when mom see's her family. Her Thanksgiving surprise.
