That's What I Get

By Caleb

All night long,
listening to you laugh about nothing.
All night long,
beaming you without a care about nothing.
Bedside is mannered to keep you close,
All night long is all anybody knows.

That's what I get for loving you,
Absolute pleasure where there is no wonder
I don't care about the thunder as it fades—
striking lightening.
Yes, that's right, in a subtle black rain storm.
That's what I get,
raw strokes down the spine that give me chills—am I running out of time?

It's clear to be in love with you,
That's what I get, all night long,
to love you.
That's what I get.
You.
