The Abyss

Stare into the abyss.
Look into my eyes.
Can you see the darkness
In which I’ve come to hide?

The thoughts in my head consume me.
Nothing good exists here.
Just make sure you don’t look too closely.
I cannot let you near.

Don’t listen too closely
To the silence in the room.
I fear that if you hear it,
You can hear the screaming too.

I’m all alone in the darkness,
Besides voices of my own.
They whisper in my ear
I will reap what I have sown.

I looked into the void
What seems like years ago.
I’m scared to let you peer in,
But I don't want you to go.
