The Adventure In The Snow

I twirl on my toes
I slide all around
my glee cannot be bound
the chilly air biting my nose
my skates barely making a sound
on the frozen ground
the sky releases its frozen burden and it snows
I slip off my skates at the edge
into boots my feet I wedge

I go to the shed
To grab my sled
I climb the hill
next to the mill
and slide down from the top
I wish it to never stop
but stop it does and I sigh
My mother is calling me inside
I place the sled in the shed

I go inside
my mother has made cocoa
I sip it and tell my family a story
the story of my adventure in the snow
