The Ageless Foe of Mankind

The ageless foe who has existed since antiquity
comes seeping through people's happiness without pity.
Homes humming with life and activity
Suddenly turned into a cacophony of wailing

Loved ones are seen no more
Happiness turned into sorrow galore.
Eyes are filled with tears
All through the never-ending years.

We look for our departed in vain
While some try to relieve us of the pain.
Yes, it looks so natural when far away
But so strange when it comes your way.

Who can overpower this foe without fear?
Even the mightiest men could not stand him with spear.
So long as there is the existence of humanity,
We have to live with him till eternity.
