The Angel

Since people came upon this Earth
I've stood beside them to check their worth
I've been there through thick and thin
I've watched them fall and get up again
I stood beside every man
Many could not accept me for what I am
My visage is hidden recognized by few
I'm always there right next to you
I was at your conception with you in the womb
All through your childhood I watched you bloom
All through your life I will be near by
I will hear you laugh I will watch you cry
I will stand along side you as you grow
Always there you may not know
When your body gives up its guest
I will hold your spirit to my breasts
I will comfort you as you take your last breath
I'm not your guardian angel
I'm the angel of Death
