The Angered Tree

The howling winds pierced my stone heart
I was a statue above your still corpse
My eyes frozen in place
Fixated deeply on the soaked tree
And the massive branch it had thrown
At my distracted soul
But in a split second
Your bravery and selflessness
Angered the menacing tree
Who hurled the monstrous branch
Onto your innocent body

Looming over us
Casting a sinister shadow
That engulfed my soul
The looming tree was violently shaking
By the powerful winds of the raging storm
As if it were trying to mock me
For being a coward
