The Arrival To My Survival

A fall like confetti.
A season quite peculiar.
The staining of the leaves.
The most astounding hope for closure.

In the night, surrounding the flames.
Cherishing your memory, breathing your name.
In the fire, disintegrating everything I see.
Autumn evenings always mesmerize me.

The crackle to every problem I've come to tackle.
A calm to what all went wrong.
Staying up late as the temperature drops.
In a blanket, I curl up and watch.

The orange flickers in front of me.
For a moment, I feel so free.
And as it all goes up in smoke ...
Nothing is burning me.
