The Artist

His eyes danced with flashing fire
as he looked upon his muse,
thinking of the rich colors he would use.

She was a beautiful woman
with an air of enticing mystery.
He would have given everything
to know of her history.

He loaded his brush
in warm, heavy tones.
He started to feel it
deep in his bones.

As paint collided with canvas,
his passion exploded.
He captured her soul
with every feature noted.

He couldn't quit till he was finished,
exhausted, and spent.
He hoped the world would see it
and know what it meant...
