The Awakening

In winter, there comes a dragon's breath
that rots the green and convinces death
to come upon my garden scene
and there to gently enfold me.
To robe me in a virgin's shroud
of gleaming white and snowy down
to lay me down until the spring
when I wake renewed in everything.
