The Balloon and the Chair

Once I saw a balloon
That was tied up to a chair
He was so worried of failing
That he had tied himself there

“What will others think of me?”
He sorrowfully complained
“I can’t keep up, I can’t fit in
This world has me chained

I’m nothing more than a shadow
I do what others say
I’m terrified of letting go,
I’d much rather stay

Tethered to my anchor
Without a single uncertainty
A life with no adventure
Is better than adversity”

He sadly sagged his shoulders
As I warily walked away
Oh, the success he’d have
If he only untied himself today
