The Bayou

Come lay with me in the bayou
with open handed ears and tender eyes
under Silver coated clouds in the mahogany sky
where the water glides down the creek
and the butterflies start to tumble
down to my feet

I lay my head on your dark chest
as our bodies collide
Underneath the ebony tree
Yearning for a mystic escape
unseen and obscure
your touch, I adore

I would feel the wind
kiss my skin
as our souls capture
the love within

So unimaginable and extreme
Its hard for others to believe
The sound of your heavy voice disappears
than the butterflies decrease

I awaken to my silk sheets
and realize it has been
the anecdote of my dreams
