The Beacon

I walk on the path
Hopelessly reaching for the sky
I stop in my tracks
When her brilliance catches my eye

I look at my options; I rethink my way
And walk toward the one thing that matters this day
Crossing a gap in the meddlesome railing of my mind
To a fascination as never before I could find

I think back now and wonder
Did luck show me to this light?
Though it's an awful blunder
To miss a beacon so bright
