The Best and Worst of You

The best and the worst decision was stepping
Into your friend’s car
To you
To your goofy faces
Your thoughtfulness when I forgot
To tickle fights and moments of passion
It led me to laughs and stomach butterflies
It led me to strong arms, where I was safe
It led me to laughs and good times

It was the worst decision
For I first met
Broken heart
The sinking feeling of not being enough

I was convinced I had found
That red fog
But love goes two ways
And mine was an unrequited one
You promised you would never let me go,
You watched me walk away
As the rain began to splattered the pavement

Here I lay, on to my seventh sleepless night
The pathetic part?
If you would come to me, I would take you back
Harboring secret hopes that you wont let me walk away again
But I am living in a dream
You will move on and so will I
Yet for now,
More sleepless nights to come…
