The Best Girl I Ever Knew
It started in a dream with the best girl I ever knew:
Her eyes shining with pure compassion melting my insides through.
There was a horse running with her saddled riding high.
If it took all intelligence to interpret I'd follow my heart in time.
Because if I never truly understood but only felt as she did,
I would realize that throughout this life she's the one I can't forget.
So I stared disbelievingly and saw what I couldn't describe.
It was the most memorable scene imprinted in this heart of mine.
I knew just then that I loved her love to love unconditionally.
And there was so much beyond what unfolded in that dream emotionally.
Dressed in a garment by the color hope named unnamed,
For it was everything else resembling reality, yet not quite the same.
She rode to be free, perhaps to let all the wrongs in life go.
There was a sunset setting perfectly, but her beauty still stole the show.
I waited for her patiently admiring the inspiration that dream held:
Me with the best girl I ever knew, and the love that was endlessly felt.
