The Big Picture

Sleeping keeps both eyes shut
1 meet 25
Both blind to reality
Bubbly and wild
Fresh iron from the mines
Never saw the picture
Not even the frame

Waking with one eye open
35 pairs 50
Momentum still forward
Life still strong
Wisdom replaces time
Slower each day
Carbon surging strength
But the picture
Only the corners

Both eyes open now
65 to slumber
Wish for another second under
Happiness shows its true form
Apprentice now become the master
Life is dripping in golden
But fading fast
Wisdom passed from steel
To raw iron
Now the picture
Threaded on beautiful colors
Enough to make a man rest easily for eternity
