The Book

I see a book
The one with the most intriguing cover
Before I begin, what will I, in the end discover
How much will I learn about you

Talented, gifted
The best at all the things you do
Striking, charming
Is that all there is to you?

The look you give to the one at the end
But do you give motivation to the task at hand
Do you give a piece of your loving to ones who need a minute of your day for talking and hugging
Or do you break down the broken, the ones who need a companion that will listen and remain unspoken

You have the applause, attention, attraction
Do you have kindness, softness, sweetness
You have all the boxes checked for the quality of a magazine
Truth hidden behind beauty
Do you have all the boxes checked for the quality of a book
Truth enhanced by beauty

What’s on the inside?
The cover is blocking all pages that I’m unable to read
Is there more?
Or is this it, a one dimensional piece
