The Broken Chair

Come and sit with me a while. Sit with me if you dare.
Come and sit next to me. There's always an empty chair.
The chair is broken and uncomfortable but you won't be sitting long.
For no one wants to hear the story of the child that is gone.
Please sit with me and talk of heartbreak and speak of broken dreams.
Sit with me and talk about the child that never got to be.
I will tell you a story of a beautiful and tragic night.
I will tell you about the darkness and the dying of a light.
I will tell you about a shattered heart that will never mend.
I will tell you all of this if you just take a seat my friend.
I wait for the next person who thinks they can last sitting there.
People don't want to sit in a broken uncomfortable chair.
