The Caged Humans

Trapped like birds in the cage,
Animals in the zoo,
The feeling of the corona rage,
We want to bid adieu.
Neither imagined nor thought,
Being in isolation, we say stay strong.
Social distancing here we are caught,
Not able to have a personal touch for so long.
Human touch is so underrated.
We humans underestimate the priceless things in our life.
Let us have that human touch we debated,
Here we are looking for the afterlife.
Birds and animals who lived behind the bar for ages,
Now we humans know their stages.
Doing no crime, they were guilty,
Now, this is our penalty.
The hugs and the kisses,
The smiles and the faces
All hidden under a mask,
Do you know me, I ask?
We the caged humans, all we can do is pray,
That one day will be there, no corona, we say.
Just a ray of hope and sunshine,
Waiting for everything to be just fine.
